Le Meridian Phuket Maikhao Beach Resort
This project involved the restoration of a Holiday Inn hotel to become “Le Meridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort”. Located along the shores of Mai Khao beach, the venue had been in service for about a decade and had experienced leaking issues which had become a major concern to the Asset owner.
Due to the deterioration of original waterproofing membranes, a common problem with this option, Xypex Thailand was appointed to tackle the areas of concern on the roof decks of the dining and toilet areas.
The first stage for Xypex Thailand was to remove the failed membrane system and concrete topping, then repair the underlying concrete defects. The cracking and honeycomb repairs were carried out using Xypex repair solutions, which included Xypex Megamix II and Xypex FCM 80. After completing the repairs, over 580 m2 of the roof areas were treated with Xypex Concentrate coating system. Xypex Gamma Cure was then used on the treated areas, ensuring an efficient curing process and no construction time delays.
Through the use of Xypex systems and the unique properties they provide, the roof structures were successfully remediated and waterproofed from water ingress in this high rainfall region. The sustainability along with service life were enhanced, and future maintenance costs to the treated areas were greatly reduced.
