PTT Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Plant Project
The Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Plant Project, developed by PTT PCL., is located in Mabtapud, in Rayong province. This project aims to recycle the wastewater from the petrochemical industry, contributing to environmental sustainability and promoting sustainable water management.
Xypex Thailand was entrusted to provide our Crystalline technology solutions and systems to protect concrete structures against aggressive chemicals present in the wastewater. Generally, Xypex products offer protection within a pH range of 3-11 when in constant contact with the concrete, and also in a 2-12 range, with periodic contact. Xypex Concentrate coating system was specified and applied to over 12,000 m2 of storage tanks and contact tanks, as well as blend tanks and observation pits. Following the main application, the treated areas were cured using Xypex Gamma Cure to ensure an efficient curing process and timely completion within the project schedule.
The application of Xypex crystalline technology offers numerous advantages, including self-healing crack capabilities, chemical resistance, and effective prevention of water and chemical ingress. These benefits have successfully waterproofed the concrete wastewater structures of the plant, significantly improving durability and lifespan of the reinforcing steels within the concrete Assets. This aligns perfectly with the Asset owner’s initial requirements, ensuring long-term service life for years to come.
