Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC)

The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) is a prestigious flagship renovation project to create a world class event platform. The center will host the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM), to be held in November 2022.

Having worked closely on many previous projects, the main contractor holds our Crystalline Technology systems in very high regard and has full confidence in Xypex Thailand to deliver the solutions needed on his projects.  Xypex Thailand were engaged to be an integral part of this mega project, providing the best waterproofing and remediation solutions.

Xypex Admix C-1000NF was specified to protect and waterproof the refurbished roof-decks on the convention center, the MRT connecting pathway, together with all the retaining walls. The combined volumes covered around 10,000 m3 of concrete. Using our Admix crystalline system, the concrete is treated at the time of batching, which avoids any delays to construction schedules. This was one of the key requirements of the contractor and owner when considering the fixed timetable for the whole project.

Additionally, a new basement slab was constructed for the MRT connecting pathway, which employed our Xypex Concentrate coating system on the lean concrete, before the slab was poured. The concrete cooling tower was also treated with our Xypex Concentrate coating and together around 2,000 m2 were protected and provided with a watertight substrate for the structures. Furthermore, all concrete construction joints were protected with our joint sealing system, Superswell47B and Xypex Concentrate, which was installed as part of the construction process.

Xypex solutions and systems have extended the Asset’s service life and enhanced the sustainability of the structures, all while successfully assisting in the reduction of the construction schedule as required by the project owner.
