In August 2022, a new “Robinson Lifestyle” shopping centre was opened in Phuket’s main city centre, under the control and development of the Central Retail Corporation. Xypex Thailand has worked with the Central Group in several projects and due to their confidence in our waterproofing systems quality, were again appointed to provide the required waterproofing systems for the project.

Working together with the main concrete supplier, over 8000 kg of Xypex Admix C-1000 NF was specified for the car park roof slab and added to the concrete mix at the batching plant. The formation of crystalline structures in the substrate helped prevent the ingress of water, which is considered a main factor of rebar corrosion in concrete substrates. This project is located in the Southern part of Thailand, which usually recieves the highest rainfall over any year.. Goven this, Xypex crystalline systems were the perfect solutions for concrete protection in this area.

Through the use of selected Xypex systems, the durability and service life of the concrete structures were enhanced, and the reinforcing steel has been protected from corrosion and deterioration.
