S-Oasis Tower
A modern skyscraper workplace, “S-Oasis”, developed by Singha Estate PCL and located on a northern suburb of Bangkok, was fully completed in 2022. Xypex Thailand engaged in this prestigious tower through the recommendation of a project consultant.
Before installation of the main waterproofing system, initial repairs were carried out on the honeycomb defects in the underground tanks. Xypex repair products; Xypex Patch’n Plug, Xypex Megamix II and M P&P Mortar were used to remediate the concrete substrate before the coating system was applied.
Following the repairs, Xypex Concentrate system was specified and installed on the whole basement area (approximately 7,600 M2</sup>); including the lean concrete basement slabs, the concrete walls, the underground potable and wastewater tanks and the kingposts. These areas were then treated with Xypex Gamma Cure to ensure an efficient curing process and allow a swift build-time.
Additionally, more than 3,500 metres of construction joints were made watertight using Corkjoint waterstop Superswell 47B, coupled with Xypex Concentrate, as part of the process to enhance the leak protection within the structures. Our Xypex FCM 80 was selected to seal the concrete joints of the food/eating area on 3rd floor, to provide additional waterproofing benefits in this area.
Several advantages of Xypex Crystalline Technology include self-crack healing capabilities, chemical resistance (wastewater vessels containing aggressive chemicals with pH range of 3-11, in constant contact with the concrete), and compliance with NSF 61 and AS/NZS 4020:2018 Standards for being non-toxic and safe to be used with potable water structures. These benefits provide efficient protection to the concrete structures, and extend the service life of this elegant tower, which was a key requirement of the owner.
